ARCH1101

A:

This is a photo of my year 12 art major, which I did in watercolour. It is named after the people in the frames; "Lola, Ina at Ako", which literally means "Grandmother, Mother and I" in Tagalog/Filipino. I based it on my family, particularly my mother's side as I am constantly told that my mother and I look alike. But I also wanted to let the audience think and wonder what may happen as time passes, as the pictures "appear" to "age".

B:

La Sainte Chapelle (The holy chapel) is one of Europe's surviving Gothic architectural style churches. It is located in Paris, France. It was built in the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture, which more so focuses on two-dimentional surfaces of decoration. Hence, in comparison to typical Gothic era churches and cathedrals, La Sainte Chapelle is clearly filled with an astonishing amount and brightly coloured stained glasses. And so, due to the many large stained windows, its stone build seems more like a thin framework. It is an example of the beauty in age.

C:

Yosemite Falls, Yosemite National Park, California.

In my trip to the west side of America recently, I was able to come across one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Yosemite Falls is divided into three sections as it falls to the bottom of the naturally carved rock. It's magnificence is only made greater by the snow and the tall trees that surround the waterfall.
